You know your story.

Maybe you've spent years trying to understand it.

You know what happened.

You know some of the ways it affected you.

Maybe you've been to therapy.

Read the books.

Listened to the podcasts.

Worked on yourself.

And yet...

You still get triggered.

You still struggle to say no.

You still hear that old voice telling you you're not enough.

You still find yourself people-pleasing, shutting down, overreacting, or questioning yourself.

And sometimes you look at your own children and think:

“I don't want to pass this on.”

You know you want something different.

But you're not always sure what comes next.

That's where Rising from the Ashes begins.

This isn't about becoming someone else.

It's about reclaiming who you were always meant to be.

You cannot rewrite what happened to you.

But you can begin changing the relationship you have with your story.

You can learn to recognize the beliefs and survival patterns you carry.

You can question the stories you've been telling yourself.

You can find your voice.

You can redefine what growth means for you.

And you can begin creating a life based on something more than simply surviving what happened to you.

Rising from the Ashes is a seven-week guided journey through that process.

What we'll do together

Each week, we'll move through selected chapters of Rising from the Ashes: Reclaiming Your Life After a Traumatic Childhood, using the book as a starting point for reflection, teaching, conversation, and integration.

We'll start by getting everyone oriented and creating the foundation for our time together.

You'll learn what to expect, how the book study will work, and how to participate in a way that feels supportive for you.

This is your opportunity to arrive before the journey officially begins.

Chapters 1–3

Every journey has a beginning.

We'll start by looking at your story and the experiences that shaped the person you became.

Not to stay stuck in the past.

Not to relive everything that happened.

But to begin understanding the foundation you're building from.

This week is about recognizing where you've been—and realizing that your beginning does not have to determine your ending.

Chapters 4–5

We all carry stories about ourselves.

Some were given to us.

Some were created in response to what happened to us.

And some have been repeated for so long that we've stopped questioning whether they're actually true.

This week, we'll explore the stories you carry about who you are, what you're worth, what you deserve, and what is possible for you.

Because a story you've carried for years doesn't automatically have to be a story you carry forever.

Chapters 6–7

What happens when you stop making yourself smaller?

When you say what you actually mean?

When you acknowledge what you need?

When you allow yourself to have an opinion, a boundary, a preference, or a no?

This week is about reclaiming your voice—and beginning to trust yourself enough to use it.

Your voice isn't a problem to overcome. It's something you get to reclaim.

Chapter 8

Forgiveness can be complicated.

Especially when you've been taught that forgiveness means forgetting, excusing, minimizing, or pretending something didn't hurt.

This week, we'll explore forgiveness through a different lens.

Not as something you're required to give someone else.

But as a question of what freedom might look like for you.

You get to decide what forgiveness means in your healing.

Chapters 9–10

What does it actually mean to grow?

Is it becoming more productive?

More successful?

More patient?

More healed?

Or could growth look completely different?

This week, we'll step away from other people's definitions of what your life should look like and begin exploring what growth means on your terms.

You don't have to measure your healing by someone else's ruler.

Chapters 11–12

Healing isn't only about looking backward.

Eventually, we get to ask:

“What do I want to build?”

What matters to you now?

What kind of woman do you want to become?

What kind of life do you want to create?

What do you want your children to experience?

What do you want your legacy to be?

This week, we'll turn toward the life you're creating—not simply the life you're recovering from.

You've spent six weeks exploring your story, your beliefs, your voice, your freedom, your growth, and your purpose.

Now we pause.

We reflect.

We integrate.

And we celebrate.

Not because everything is magically fixed.

Not because healing is finished.

But because you showed up.

You looked at things differently.

You asked new questions.

You made space for yourself.

And you began deciding what comes next.

This is for you if...

You might be ready for Rising from the Ashes if:

  • You recognize that your childhood still affects the way you live and parent today.

  • You want to understand yourself without constantly judging yourself.

  • You've done some healing work and you're ready to keep going.

  • You struggle with shame, people-pleasing, boundaries, self-worth, or trusting yourself.

  • You want to break cycles without demanding perfection from yourself.

  • You want to explore your story without being defined by it.

  • You want meaningful reflection and conversation—not just more information.

  • You'd like to do this work alongside other women who understand.

  • You're ready to start asking “What comes next?”

You don't need to be at a particular point in your healing.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

You simply need to be willing to show up.

What this is NOT

This is not group therapy.

Rising from the Ashes is a trauma-informed educational and reflective book study.

It is not psychotherapy, counselling, crisis support, or a replacement for individual mental health care.

You will never be required to disclose your trauma story.

You don't have to speak during every session.

You can participate at your own pace.

And you're always encouraged to make choices about participation based on your own needs and circumstances.

This is a space for:

Choice.
Curiosity.
Compassion.
Reflection.
Connection.
Growth.

Meet Emily

Hi, I'm Emily.

I'm a mama of two, trauma-informed coach, author, podcaster, and founder of Mamahood After Trauma.

I've spent years teaching mamas about the ways trauma can show up in motherhood—and, more importantly, what becomes possible when we stop viewing ourselves through the lens of everything that happened to us.

I created Rising from the Ashes because I believe healing needs to be about more than understanding your past.

At some point, you deserve to ask:

Who am I now?

What do I want?

What do I believe?

What kind of life do I want to create?

What do I want to carry forward—and what ends with me?

That's the work we're going to explore together.

You don't have to become the perfect cycle-breaking mother.

You can begin right where you are.

With the story you have.

With the woman you've become.

With the life you're living right now.

And together, we can ask:

What happens next?
